YY, you're 100% correct, the American version of "Mamas Boys" does indeed contain "If The Kids Are United" that one slipped my mind.
I didn't however know about the cassette version of "Power And Passion."
I do have both the Japanesse vinyl versions of "Mamas Boys" and "Power And Passion" however I've never been able to find them on CD.
If you ever come across them, buy them for me and I'll send you over the money.

Unfortunately, Japanese "Mama's Boys" CD does not have any bonus tracks. But cassette version of Japanese "P&P" has "If The Kids.."as a bonus track.
Also US version of "Mama's Boys" LP/CS (Arista JL8/JCB-8281)" has it. |

Hey Chris,
as far as I'm aware "If The Kids Are United" was never released on CD. I have heard rumours that during the mid 80's Jive released the CD "Mamas Boys" in Japan with a few extra tracks but I've never been able to find it anywhere.
"If The Kids Are United" was released as an American only promo (to radio stations) for airplay and a video for the song was also shot at the same time as "Mama Were All Crazzee Now"
"If The Kids Are United" can also be found as bonus track on the UK 12" single release of "Needle In The Groove" released by Jive in 1985. Cat n0 Jive T 96 |

I was at the show in Lisburn tonight (8/11) and to say I was blown away is a massive understatement. I hadn't heard many Mamas Boys tracks and so didn't know what to expect but honestly the musicianship and performance put every guitarist I have heard to shame. As cliched as it sounds I did stand at the back with my jaw on the floor. Needless to say I will be at many more of your gigs. Thanks for a great night. |

My sister and I enjoyed your two gigs in Warrenpoint at the Blues on the Bay Festival so much and we are now going with our hubbies to see you on Saturday night at the North Coast Folk Festival in Portrush - we're really looking forward to it - we would have gone on the Friday night in Portstewart also but didn't think it was fair to abandon our kids on Halloween!!! So they can have their fun on Friday and we'll have ours on Saturday - can't wait! |

Heard you last night (24th october)in the Fort in Dungannon.Great gig .I seen you in the Fort a couple of times but last night was the best.The PA didnt do justice to the bass player or the drummer but your guitar sound was class.I suppose there wasnt enough bottom end.BTW any chance of a Pat Mc Manus special cover version of Come on Eileen!!! Only joking!!!

Hey Roy, the gig in Ensisheim is near
Mulhouse. You cannot fly there direct from Ireland,but can from London or you can easily fly to Paris from Belfast or Dublin and
get a train there.

Words fail me as to describe your show and not only that, your contribution to Irish rock 'n roll.
I'm a member of the legendary 'Grove' alternative 'disco' of Northside Dublin that ran from 1967-1997 and at your next gig on 05/09/08 the legendary Cecil Nolan, DJ for The Grove, will be present as well as a lot of other Grovers.
By the way 'Needle In Then Groove' was a Grove classic.
If 'The Grove' doesn't ring beels for you, get a copy of the Grove Documentary, I'll provide one at the next gig, and you'll understand where I'm comin from.

What a great site,brings back fond memories of the many Mamas Boys gigs in the Milestone in Balbriggan,Skerries,Swords,Drogheda + supporting Lizzy in RDS+Joan Jett in the SFX all come to mind.I still listen to the vinyl albums as class is permanent.
just back from a week in the Canaries and missed Pats gig in Manowar.Also missed his recent gigs in the Slaughered Lamb in Swords as I was working in UK ,gutted.I have some great photos from the early Mamas Boys gigs.
I,ll bring them along the next time Pat is in North County Dublin
